Krisztián Almási (Kecskemét, Hungary) / drums and percussions
I started to play the drum when I was 15 mostly influenced by bands like Deep Purple, Nirvana and NoMeansNo. I was listening to rock, jazz, punk and experimental records all day and watching „120 Minutes” on MTV every week. I used to play in grunge and punk rock bands in the beginning of my career. Then I played funk-rock and irish music as well.
In 2007 world and folk music has become part of my life. I started to work and record with different bands and I went on international concert tours many times.
I am a full time musician now and I have the chance to work with wonderful people. My main band is „Lóca együttes” that is a folk/world music group and we play concerts to children. Besides Lóca I play the drums in a raw power folk band Zoord and in folk dance events every week. My new project is Yukatengi which is a post-folk / etno-punk two-piece. We use electric violin and drumkit, and we play our own experimental compositions. I play the kalimba and the sansula as well, and I produce dreamy minimalist ambient music under the artist name Mansanas.
